The Wild Backyard is a family-owned and operated business run by a brother and sister based in Delaware and Rhode Island. Growing up, we both shared a deep love for animals, the outdoors, and wild places. That passion never faded—if anything, it grew stronger as we built families of our own and continued spending as much time as possible outside, whether fishing, hunting, or exploring nature together.

Our love for animals extends well beyond the wild. Over the years, it has led us to care for a wide range of species at home, from large outdoor koi ponds and tortoise enclosures to an ever-growing collection of lizards and snakes indoors. These animals aren’t just pets to us—they’re part of our daily lives and a constant reminder of how fascinating and rewarding the natural world can be.

The Wild Backyard was created from a desire to share that excitement with others. In a world increasingly focused on screens and technology, we hope to encourage people of all ages to step outside, slow down, and reconnect with nature. You don’t need to travel far to find something incredible—sometimes the most exciting wild places are right in your own backyard.
